Clément Courgeon
June 23 - October 6, 2023
03.01.23: A 64-year-old man threatened his wife's business partner "in a moment of madness".
26.03.22: Drunk, he enters a pavilion and gets undressed.
03.29.2019: 14-year-old girl kills herself by throwing herself under a train.
The carnival is over. The masks come off and the disguises are packed away in their trunks. Daily life resumes its strange, feverish course.
hapy like a fly reveals a new facet of Clément Courgeon's practice, rougher and more intimate, but as facetious as ever. With a trashy sense of humor - devoid of irony - almost anachronistic, Clément Courgeon unfolds a disquieting scenery.
His works give the impression of looking at a city through the reflection of a distorting mirror. This is John Waters' Mortville. Anything can happen, day or night.
